    On the road

Frosty mornings, dark roads and everyday drives

Choose a moment and tap what helps. On a frosty morning, you can scrape the windscreen yourself.

    13 products in this collection

Never pour boiling water on a frozen windscreen: the sudden heat can crack the glass.

Hazard lights on, hi-vis on before you step out, and wait well away from the traffic.

Check tyre pressure when the tyres are cold, and keep an eye on the tread: 1.6 mm is the EU legal minimum.

    Safe at home

Five calm moves for a pan fire, and a first aid kit for every place

Practise the moves that put out a pan fire, then find the kit that suits the desk, the car, the post or the barbecue.

    Pan on fire? Stay calm

    1. 1

      Heat off

Turn off the hob if you can reach it safely. Never move the pan, and never pour water on burning oil.

    2. 2

      Pull the tabs

Pull both tabs sharply so the blanket drops out of its pouch, fully open.

    3. 3

      Shield your hands

Wrap the top edge over your hands and hold the blanket up in front of you, at arm's length.

    4. 4

      Place, don't throw

Lay it gently over the pan until it is completely covered. Without air, the flames go out.

    5. 5

      Leave it

Leave it in place for around 30 minutes to cool. If the fire is not out, get out, close the door and call 112.

Our fire blankets come in 100 × 95 cm in a pouch, and 120 × 180 cm for bigger kitchens and workshops.
